I’m writing a book of sorts

Those of you who follow (circle?) me on Google+ may remember a rather cryptic image post that I made some time ago. Heck, you may remember the image more than you remember Google+ right now.

Anyway, this post is the formal announcement of the project that the cryptic image is part of – a book i am (Kind of) writing.

I keep using “sort of” and other such washy terms when talking about the project because I’m not entirely sure what I should be calling it, but the final form will take the form of a book (and digital equivilent) when finished.
So what is the damn thing, then?

I am putting together an amalgam work of prose, photos, paintings and other media with the aim of telling a unified story through many different viewpoints and methods. (This is a rather high-handed way of saying that I’m throwing a hodge-podge of stuff together and hoping it sticks like I want it to.) The work itself is called “My Friends, The Stars”.

The general outline has been all-but set in stone for a while, and I have been generating all of the individual sections and figuring out how they will place in the overall work. This is (Surprise!) taking quite a while and so I wanted to set an interim goal to meet.

So, while I don’t have any sampler properly available at the moment, I will have one ready in time for the week of my birthday – September 5th. I’m aiming for 15-20 pages, but this depends on the (terrifyingly confusing to use) DTP software I am using for layout.

Edit from February 2012: Ah ha ha, bugger me. That preview version didn’t happen, did it? And likely the sampler will only be ready when the entirety of the content is due to the scatterbrained production of this thing.
